¶ Docker Add-On Guide
The Docker add-on brings container support to Batocera through a bundled suite that includes Docker, Podman, and Portainer. This powerful toolkit enables users to run and manage lightweight, isolated containers for services, tools, and applications—all from within Batocera.
¶ 📥 Installation
The container suite is available through Batocera Unofficial Add-Ons (BUA). To install:
- Launch Batocera Unofficial Add-Ons from the Ports menu.
- Navigate to the Developer Tools section.
- Select Docker and press Install.
- All components (Docker, Podman, and Portainer) will be installed together.
¶ 🔧 Setup Instructions
- After installation, container services are ready to use via terminal or web interface.
- Access Portainer through your browser:
- Open your Batocera system’s IP in a browser using port
9443(e.g.,http://batocera.local:9443). - Create an admin account on first launch.
- Open your Batocera system’s IP in a browser using port
- Use Docker or Podman via terminal to pull, run, and manage containers.

- Docker – Industry-standard container engine.
- Podman – Daemonless alternative to Docker, compatible with Docker CLI.
- Portainer – Web UI for managing Docker and Podman containers.
¶ 🛠️ Troubleshooting

| Portainer not loading | Ensure nothing is blocking port 9443 and the service is running. |
| Docker commands not found | Reboot after installation or open a new terminal session. |
| Containers not persisting | Containers run in memory unless configured to save data to a volume. |
