StepMania is an open-source rhythm game that allows players to hit notes in time with music using keyboards, dance pads, or controllers. It supports a wide range of custom songs, themes, and gameplay modes, making it highly customizable.
¶ 📥 Installation
StepMania can be installed via Batocera Unofficial Add-Ons (BUA). To install:
- Open Batocera Unofficial Add-Ons from the Ports menu.
- Browse the available add-ons and locate StepMania.
- Select Install and wait for the installation to complete.
- Once installed, StepMania will be available in your game list.
¶ 🎮 How to Play
- After installation, navigate to the Ports section.
- Locate StepMania in the game list and launch it.
- Choose a song and difficulty level.
- Use the keyboard, gamepad, or dance pad to hit the notes in sync with the music.

- Controls: Supports keyboard, gamepad, and dance pad setups.
- Graphics Settings: Adjust resolution, frame rate, and visual effects.
- Custom Songs: Add new songs by placing them in the
Songsdirectory. Make sure you put your songs in a subfolder or the game will not launch. - Themes & Mods: Customize StepMania with different themes and gameplay modifiers.
