¶ UltraStar Deluxe Add-On Guide
UltraStar Deluxe is a free and open-source karaoke game inspired by the SingStar™ series. Players sing along with on-screen lyrics and pitch guides while being scored based on vocal accuracy. It’s perfect for parties, family fun, or solo vocal training—directly on your Batocera system.
¶ 📥 Installation
UltraStar Deluxe is available via the Batocera Unofficial Add-Ons (BUA):
- Launch Batocera Unofficial Add-Ons from the Ports menu.
- Navigate to the Games section and find Ultrastar.
- Select Install and wait for installation to complete.
- After installation, UltraStar Deluxe will appear in the Ports section in EmulationStation.
¶ 🎤 How to Play
- Plug in one or more microphones (USB recommended).
- Launch UltraStar from the Ports menu.
- Choose a song (you may need to add songs manually — see below).
- Follow the lyrics and pitch bars on screen to score points based on how accurately you sing.
¶ 🎵 Adding Songs
UltraStar Deluxe does not include songs by default. To add your own:
- Download
.txt-based UltraStar songs (with audio files, usually.mp3or.ogg). - Place them in the following folder:
/userdata/system/.ultrastarx/songs/ - Restart UltraStar Deluxe, and your songs will appear in the menu.
You can find song packs online at sites like:
⚠️ Make sure you only use legal or royalty-free song packs unless you own the originals.
¶ ⚙️ Configuration
- Microphone Support: Multiple USB mics supported. Audio latency is minimal on most setups.
- Languages: Multi-language support is built in.
- Display Options: Fullscreen, resolution scaling, and custom themes are available in the settings menu.
- Scoring Modes: Solo, Duet, or Party Mode with up to 6 players.
¶ 🛠️ Troubleshooting

| No songs found | Ensure the .txt files and audio tracks are placed in /userdata/system/.ultrastarx/songs/. |
| Microphone not working | Make sure your mic is detected by Batocera. Reconnect it before launching the game. |
| Song lags behind audio | Adjust sync offset in the audio settings menu. |
| Game crashes on launch | Reinstall the add-on or check for invalid or corrupted song files. |
UltraStar Deluxe is maintained by the open-source community and does not include any commercial music by default.
